In order to use USB 3.0 devices, you will need a USB 3.0 controller. If your motherboard does not have a built-in USB 3.0 controller (unless you regularly upgrade your motherboard, generally do not have), you will need a USB 3.0 controller card, the card will use a PCI-e slot. For laptop users, USB 3.0 ExpressCard is also available. In some "start kit" package inside, a number of USB 3.0 hardware are also available, these packages usually contain a controller card.
    While some of the new systems using 3.0, you may need to install drivers to better support it.
